PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero) brought two container cranes to Sorong Port to increase loading and unloading productivity at the port located in West Papua.
Pelindo IV Technical Director Prakosa Hadi Takariyanto said, the equipment arrived at the Sorong Port Pier on Tuesday (28/7) using MV Pacific Brave.
"Although Covid-19 pandemic is still sweeping the world, including Indonesia, we remain committed and continue to build infrastructure and adding equipment in several ports in accordance with our investment target," he said, Wednesday (29/7).
According to Prakosa, some development projects are still ongoing by prioritizing Covid-19 health protocol, especially for employees or anyone who works in the field.
"Actually, for Sorong Port there are a total of 4 units of equipment that we have brought, namely 2 RTG units and 2 CC units. But 2 CC units arrived earlier. Following the 2 RTG units, it is planned to arrive in August," he said.
Pelindo IV Senior Vice President of Port Equipment Muhajir Djurumiah said arrival of the 4 units was part of company’s investment plan in 2020.
"Although the Corona virus outbreak is still happening, Pelindo IV is trying to continue to survive in order to spur growth in Eastern Indonesia," he said. (hlz/hlz)
