PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) rolled out six policies to support the acceleration of national economic recovery during the adaptation period for new normal to face the Covid-19 pandemic.
The policies as a frame of Quick Win program launched by U. Saefudin Noer after being appointed as President Director of Pelindo III.
The first policy is the early stack, which is the change in the container open stack period from three days to five days.
Second, changing the accumulation period of empty imported containers (empty in-bound) from three days to seven days with fixed costs. "Thus, importers or exporters can send containers directly," he explained, Saturday (15/8).
The third is a transshipment discount between terminals of 35% of the package loading and unloading tariff.
"This scheme is to reduce the cost of Container Handling Charge (CHC) for domestic containers, especially at the Port of Tanjung Perak. Exporters will benefit from this scheme so that they can stimulate exports, "said Saefudin.
Fourth, regulate the certainty of berth time and the availability of moorings or windows connectivity. This step is carried out with ports on a specific route for container ships. The goal is to improve performance and production, and shorten Turn Round Voyage (TRV).
Fifth, Single Submission (SSm) and Joint Inspection, which are one-stop services involving Customs and Quarantine. This service can reduce port costs by 38% to 49%.
The last or sixth, Saefudin continued, is to provide shore connections in all ports managed by Pelindo III. "Ships are advised to turn off the engine to conserve diesel fuel by utilizing the electricity network provided by the port to charge it while docking," he said. (hlz/hlz)
